As a veterinary journalist and former veterinary practice manager, I have a solid understanding of dental disease, the importance of addressing dental problems in a timely manner, and of what’s involved with putting a pet under anesthesia. However, this comprehensive knowledge does not protect me from worrying about my cat when she’s the one who needs a procedure. Continue reading
How utterly refreshing! Dr. Chamberlain and his staff truly care and take their time to explain exactly what is going on, and keep you in the loop at all points of the procedure. I was informed of my options, and the risks of each, all in being sensitive to the fact that I a breeder and handler of champion Australian Shepherds . Then they sedated my girl, and they changed their opinion of what would provide the best outcome for my girl, which actually was the least expensive option. I feel very thankful I have such a world class specialist right down the road from me, but even if they were hours away I would still make the trek, it would be worth it.
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Stiles and his staff. We sought them out 2 years ago because my girl is a higher risk patient for anesthesia. Despite the great care she got she did have an issue coming out of anesthesia so I was terrified going into the dental this year. Dr. Stiles came into our consult prepared with a plan to further minimize her risk, including consulting with a veterinary anesthesiologist and an internal medicine specialist. The plan they came up with allowed us to use less medication and virtually eliminated her anxiety during/after the procedure and she came through with flying colors. Most importantly, at every step the staff was incredibly patient, empathetic and informative. I am admittedly not the easiest owner to deal with, but they handled my extensive questions gracefully. They even cared enough to have a tech sit on the floor with my dog on her dog bed until she was out of anesthesia so she wouldn’t become anxious. That level of care, combined with the frequent updates throughout the procedure actually allowed me to relax while she was with them. I really can’t say enough good things about Dr. Stiles and his staff, especially Jen – the tech who kept me informed all day.
Our little girl Frankie is our joy. When you love your four-legged little one so much, it’s incredibly hard to trust them in anyone else’s hands but your own. My sister and I were so nervous when we first learned our little girl had to have dental work done. However, that all changed as soon as we started talking to Kim and the rest of the staff members and doctors at TLC. They listened, answered all of our questions, and made us feel completely comfortable. Their love for animals, extreme professionalism, and commitment to incredible care showed through during every step of the process. TLC is a wonderful, caring, wholehearted establishment, with a highly-specialized team that treats your pet like their own. Thank you, TLC. Our little girl’s smile never looked better!
Being a veterinarian myself, I wanted to make sure my senior dog, Polly, and my cat, Rocky, were in good hands for their respective dental cleanings. I have known Dr. Chamberlain and his staff since I was a veterinary student, and I was very comfortable trusting them to care for my pets. Given that I was unsure if Polly and Rocky would need routine dental cleanings or more extensive procedures, I wanted to make sure they would receive the ‘gold standard’ of care. On the day of their procedures, the communication from Dr. Chamberlain’s staff was fantastic – I received phone calls with updates throughout the afternoon, alleviating any of my concerns as a nervous pet Mom. I would highly recommend the compassionate and highly skilled doctors and staff at Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery to anyone considering a dental procedure for their pets.

I’m eternally grateful that I found Dr. Chamberlain and his practice. I went in for a routine dental check because I know that my baby Jafar has poor teeth and probably needed extractions. Dr. Chamberlain went above and beyond — he actually detected a heart murmur in Jafar that my regular vet missed. I’m so thankful that he caught this! I hate to imagine what would have happened if I never knew. In addition to this, he was able to refer Jafar to an excellent cardiologist for monitoring, and provide a safe oral cleaning and extractions for Jafar. Continue reading
Thank you so much to the doctors and staff for taking such good care of my dogs Sam & Sadie. Both are “special needs” – Sadie is blind, and Sam has a heart murmur in addition his jaw being previously broken (at another vet clinic). They both needed to have thorough dental cleanings done, as well as having several teeth extracted. Everyone in the office kept me well informed and took wonderful care of both of my fur babies.
Thanks from the whole family!
Molly was a rescue. We adopted her when she was almost seven years old. She arrived with many health and behavioral issues. Her regular vet was concerned about Molly’s teeth and recommended that we consult with Dr. Stiles. He recommended surgery to repair her problems. Since the surgery, Molly has responded very well and hopefully is pain-free now. His staff kept us informed every step of the way during the surgery and Dr. Stiles was very helpful and concerned about her health. We cannot thank Dr. Stiles and his staff enough for the care Molly Received. We would recommend your office to anyone concerned about their pet’s dental health.

Our vet referred us to Dr. Chamberlain when Maisy suffered complications after a tooth extraction. She had an oronasal fistula (a hole in her gum). We were very pleased with Dr. Chamberlain and his entire staff! The procedure went very smoothly, and he and his staff were both caring and remarkably proficient. They kept us well informed during every step of the process. Continue reading

However, this comprehensive knowledge does not protect me from worrying about my cat when she’s the one who needs a procedure.
