Dr. Beth Durney graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Following graduation, she completed a rigorous rotating internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. In 2011, she returned to her hometown of Washington, D.C. Dr. Durney spent several years working in the ICU and ER of a large specialty center before transitioning to General Practice in downtown DC. There, she worked as a high level generalist and medical director for 9 years prior to starting at Animal Dental and Oral Surgery in July of 2021. During her time in general practice, Dr. Durney fell in love with the practice of dentistry, both in terms of the medical practice itself and the life-changing results high-quality dental care provides both pets and owners alike. Dr. Durney is excited to pull from her past and blend her love of dentistry, specialty care, and long term patient relationships into her work at Animal Dental and Oral Surgery.
Dr. Durney is a born-and-raised DC native. She has lived in the area for more years than she would admit to. She received her bachelor's degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. She has lived in Philadelphia and New York as well, but will always call the DMV area home. When not at work, you can find her riding, cooking, or hiking with her husband, two children and two dogs.
