DVM

Dr. Beth Durney received her bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University and graduated from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Following graduation, she completed a rigorous rotating internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. In 2011 she returned to her hometown of Washington, D.C. and spent several years working in the ICU and ER of a large specialty center. Dr. Durney then transitioned to general medicine, working for 9 years as high-level generalist and medical director of a busy practice in downtown D.C.

During her time in general practice Dr. Durney fell in love with the practice of dentistry, seeing the life-changing results high-quality dental care provides both pets and owners alike. Determined to pursue her passion for dentistry, Dr. Durney joined Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery in July 2021 and is currently pursuing her AVDC board certification in dentistry. She is excited to pull from her past and blend her love of dentistry, specialty care, and long-term patient relationships into her work at Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery.

Dr. Durney is a born-and-raised DC native and has lived in the area for more years than she would care to admit. She has lived in Philadelphia and New York, but will always call the DMV area home. When not at work, you can find her riding, cooking, or hiking with her husband, two children and two dogs.
